Certification of structural wood is carried out under system 2+ according to the requirements of the harmonized European standard PN-EN 14081-1:2005+A1:2011 - Timber structures - Strength-graded structural timber with rectangular cross-sections - Part 1: General requirements supplemented by the requirements of standard PN-D-94021:2013 - Strength-graded softwood timber.
The requirements of the aforementioned standards allow obtaining certification for structural wood with:
Pine in classes C20, C24, C35
Spruce in classes C18, C24, C30
Fir in classes C14, C18, C22
Larch in classes C24, C30, C35
Certification of structural wood is conducted under system 2+, according to which the manufacturer:
Implement factory production control
Conduct assessment of the structural timber's performance properties based on testing
Conduct tests according to an established plan
The task of the accredited/notified certifying body is to issue a factory production control compliance certificate based on a positive assessment of FPC and the production facility (sawmill) after conducting an initial inspection at the production site of structural timber.
The condition for maintaining the structural wood certificate is continuous supervision of the unit over the FPC conducted through annual factory inspections.
Upon obtaining the certificate, the manufacturer can:
Issue a declaration of performance
Mark structural timber with the CE mark
Introduce the product into circulation
